Italian Luxury‘s Electronic Label Tracking Solution
Italian Luxury‘s Electronic
Label Tracking Solution
Italian luxury goods group Salvatore
Ferragamo revealed their electronic label tracking solution for the first time.
Ferragamo embeds microchips in shoes and handbags to counter fake
manufacturers.
R FID is a high-tech bar code technology
that identifies and tracks a variety of specific targets. It is reported that
since 2014, most of Ferragamo's women's shoes have radio frequency
identification (RFID) embedded in the left sole of their feet. label. Ferragamo
said RFID tags will help them strengthen their efforts to combat counterfeit
goods.
Using RFID tags to manage inventory is the
most common practice for retailers. Zara's parent company, Inditex, the world's
largest apparel retailer, said on Wednesday that by the end of the year, Zara
would use RFID technology in more than 2,000 stores worldwide.
Ferragamo's widespread use of RFID
technology reflects the brand's determination to fight counterfeit goods and
seeks to break through the gradual slowing market demand (especially the
Chinese market).
Last year, in collaboration with relevant
Chinese authorities, 25,000 fakes were destroyed or confiscated, and 9100
counterfeit online advertisements were intercepted. Last year, Ferragamo's
fakes destroyed in China (including goods directly inspected by customs)
totaled more than $17 million, more than half of which were belts.
